Owner (not our customer till now) did not change timing belt at 60,000, at 110,000 it broke, took out(bent stems and cracked pistons etc.) valves
Replace with 29,000 mile motor after installing NEW belt b4 install. New Timeimg belt is DEAD on target b4 ya ask.
When engine was first started was a little noisy for less than a minute. Then seems to be running like a swiss watch. Good power etc. BUT... throws engine codes P0335 and P0340. Engine not missing, runs smooth etc. Sync scope on #1 injector, scoped Cam and Crank sig, nice signal 0 to 5 no slop or wavey stuff and they look perfect, purfect, owner was paying for rental car. Sent her out with car. Could original motor have hurt PCM as belt chewed crank sensor and destroyed wires. A week or so later she said it was idleing rough and stalling at times at idle, every day or so since. She has not had time to leave for us to look at it but we did get a random misfire code P0300 in addition to original. Engine runs smooth above idle. Wiggle wires and vac hose have no affect. Next step is send her to a dealer if we can't come up with other ideas.

I'd go back and wring out the crank sensor wiring thoroughly.

Maybe you mis-understood. The wiring inside the destroyed engine was twisted within the area of timing belt cover, no damage outside or from connector to PCM. My concern is, can the 12 volts fed to the crank sensor go back the open collector output to the 5 volt positive load resister in the PCM and partially destroy part of PCM while still allowing it to run the engine smoothly. Or, are these codes (po335 & 340) blue herrings, covering a totally different problem as yet undetected. Alldata states if no problem found change PCM. Would prefer to be positive b4 having her spend even more money to no avail. New installed engine had 29,000 miles on it and maybe a throttle body problem or ? not showing in codes. Problem is the damn thing ran well. Several weeks later idle problem has shown up, (maybe dirt somewhere in T body) but no time to check what that is. Very intermittent.
