I have a 2000 Yukon XL. When I trailer my boat the transmission will shift out of first gear with a bang. I've read that this could be a simple fix and not necessarily require a transmission rebuild. this does not happen if I'm not trailering the boat.
any advice/

How heavy is the boat/trailer?

Do you have the Tow/Haul option (there's a button in the end of the gear shift selector)?

Check to see if you are not exceeding the towing capacity of your truck.
